Jinmyung Communications Co., Ltd (JM BROADCAST) is a manufacturing company that develops and produces DTV (HD/UHD) transmitters and antenna systems for terrestrial broadcasting, and supplies equipment to many domestic broadcasters such as KBS, MBC, SBS, CBS, FEBC, etc. as well as other overseas markets including the U.S. and the Philippines.
JM Broadcast was founded in 1995 and was the first in Korea to develop a digital TV repeater in 1999. Since then, we have been leading the transmission equipment market in domestic broadcasting and are currently expanding our supply to overseas markets.
From 2010 to 2012, when terrestrial television broadcasting converted from analogue to digital, JM Broadcast supplied about 800 DTV transmitters and repeaters, which was about 40% of domestic demand, to KBS, MBC, SBS and private broadcasters. In 2017, the Single Frequency Network (SFN) ATSC 3.0 system test was successful in a terrestrial broadcasting environment for the first time in the world, and the 5kW ATSC 3.0 UHD TV transmitter was developed.
In May 2017, terrestrial UHD TV with the ATSC 3.0 system started broadcasting in Seoul using JM Broadcast’s transmitter, for the first time in the world, and coverage of the Olympic Games was broadcast on UHD for the first time globally using JM Broadcast’s UHD TV transmitters during the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
In 2020, JM successfully developed and supplied 30kW liquid-cooled UHF DTV transmitter main & alternative system and UHF antenna system as a result of integration of the company’s experience and technology. As of 2020, JM has supplied about 900 DTV and DMB (DAB) transmitters and occupies 50% of the transmission equipment market in Korea. Based on long experience and great expertise, JM has developed compact high-performance digital TV transmitters and exported them to many countries.
Through the excellent product design capabilities of professional engineers with over 20~30 years of experience, design and manufacture of customized transmitters is available. An optimal transmission and reception environment is provided through design, not just of transmitters but also antennas, which takes account of the geographical characteristics of the target broadcast transmission area and the transmission station environment.
All the JM Broadcast’s design and manufacturing processes are ISO 9001:2015 certified. Not only the temperature and humidity testing is performed using a large-sized chamber, but a week-long Burn-in Test is performed and it results in providing highly durable equipment with competent performance.
